PASCO — Thunderstorms not only interrupted the Seahawks game Sunday evening in Seattle, they caused power outages and damage across Washington.
KONA reports Benton and Franklin County public utility districts had nearly 4,000 outages in the Tri-Cities area. A 100-foot tall tree fell on a house in Richland. In Patterson, classes are canceled Monday because of water damage in the school gym.
Falling trees in Hermiston, Ore., knocked out power to 10,000 customers of Umatilla Electric and Hermiston Energy Services.
The Spokesman-Review reports more than 4,400 Avista customers in Eastern Washington were without power, the majority of them in Odessa.

KATU reports wo goats were killed in Kelso while they were standing under a tree hit by lightning.
The Olympian reports lightning destroyed three transformers and damaged the projector at the Skyline Drive-in Theater near Shelton. Skyline purchased the digital projector after raising $40,000 in May through the Kickstarter website.
