EDMONDS — Lily Hart scored in the second minute of overtime to pace Mountlake Terrace to a 2-1 victory over Meadowdale in a Wesco 3A south match on Tuesday night.
Hart’s overtime goal began at the 40-yard line with a Mavericks’ defender playing her tight up the field. Hart brought the ball up to 18 yards out and took a shot from the right side that found the net to seal the victory for the Hawks.
“Meadowdale is a really strong program,” said Mountlake Terrace head coach Evan Hatch. “They’re really strong offensively, they spent a lot of the game on offense. It became more evenly matched though as the game went on.”
The Hawks’ lone freshman Maddie Powers scored the first goal of the night in the 62nd minute off of a throw in from teammate Riley Zucker.
“All of our players are playing really well together,” said Hatch. “We don’t have too many seniors on the team, but each game we seem to get better.”
