EVERETT — A Snohomish County sheriff’s deputy was slightly injured and two patrol cars damaged in a police chase Friday morning.
Deputies were trying to stop a reported stolen car. They got on its trail about 10 a.m. when the owner called 911 to report that she was following the vehicle along Lowell-Larimer Road, east of Everett, said Shari Ireton, a spokeswoman for the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies made an unsuccessful attempt to stop the car by bumping it from behind, a maneuver that often causes the fleeing vehicle to spin around and stall. An attempt to flatten the car’s tires with spike strips also was unsuccessful, Ireton said.
The chase was concluded when the suspects struck a patrol car that was parked near the intersection of 129th Place SE and the Bothell-Everett Highway.
Two men, both in their 20s, were arrested. Additional details weren’t immediately available.
