So ultra-liberal, know-it-all, he’s-right-and-the-rest-of-us-are-brainless-nitwits, local columnist Sid Schwab announced he’s quitting — kind of. In typical Sid fashion, he has bowed out in the most obtuse manner imaginable by using -30- at the end as a “Look at what I know and you don’t” parting shot. Perhaps the new owners of the Everett Herald said “enough” to the repetitive rants. Or perhaps Sid’s “people agree with me” fan base has evaporated in the face of his increasingly strident and off-balance writings. Regardless, there are three more columns and then there will be free space at the top of the opinion page each Sunday. Huzzah!!Sid, good luck in your new private life. And just remember, on most houses you’ll enter, the door opens to the right. Something to ponder…
