Regarding the article, “Lawmakers get speeding tickets in spite of policy”: For garden seed, I had no idea that our lawmakers part-time jobs are so vitally and critically important! By all means let’s get them sirens and flags all around and big flashing lights! Then, they will be more visible when they go speeding through our streets and highways.
We are all truly blessed that our state Constitution protects our legislators right to speed with out the repercussions of a ticket, or God forbid, the “impeding” of their precious time. Perhaps they should legislate to give themselves the right to text and talk on their cell phones.
I will ask one question though, when Rep. Marko Liias causes an accident, and I am waiting for the aid car to take my lowly broken self to the ER, will I get the ticket?
No one should be above the law where safety is concerned, no one!
