Prep football: Cascade 51, Mariner 34

EVERETT -- Josh Smith threw for two touchdowns and ran for two more as Cascade held off Mariner in the Wesco 4A South opener for both teams. Smith finished the game with 100 yards rushing on 15 carries and completed 10 of 14 passes for 128 yards. Mariner rushed for 397 yards in the game, with Dyonte Law gaining 212 on 15 carries, and Joshua Williamson adding 177 on 28 carries.
