Still suffering the loss of "Downton Abbey"? Here's something that might help fill the gap until season four starts Jan. 5 on PBS.
Actor and historian Tames Alan will present a program on the 12-course Victorian meals like the ones seen on "Downton Abbey." The free 90-minute program, "Dining at Downton," will start at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Everett library, 2702 Hoyt Ave.
Alan will explain the table setting, what each item was used for, the menu and what foods were served for each course. She'll also talk about appropriate dinner-table topics and the manners of Victorian England and how they translate to today's etiquette. She will answer questions at the end of the presentation.
