CHEHALIS — A 32-year-old Randle man who beat and strangled his fiancee and tried to make it appear she died in a car crash was sentenced Wednesday in Chehalis to nearly 24 years in prison.
Corey R. Morgan had pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and assault in the death of 48-year-old Brenda Bail-Burnside.
The Chronicle reported that Morgan tried to hide the homicide last July by saying she died in a crash on a forest road as they were trying to flee random attackers.
