More closures planned on U.S. at Bickford

SNOHOMISH – More closures are planned on U.S. 2 at Bickford Avenue this week for finishing work on the overpass project.

Eastbound U.S. 2 is scheduled to be completely closed tonight from the east end of the trestle to Highway 9, and westbound U.S. 2 covering the same stretch on Wednesday night. Also, a single lane closure is planned on eastbound U.S. 2 for both nights. Tonight, it will begin before the full eastbound closure and continue for an hour after the full closure is ended.

Crews plan to lay down pavement and paint new lane markers on U.S. 2. All the work depends on weather.

Tonight, the right lane of eastbound U.S. 2 between Bickford Avenue and Highway 9 is scheduled to close at 7 p.m. for paving and reopen at 6 a.m. Wednesday.

The ramp from the Highway 204 interchange to eastbound U.S 2. is set to be closed during that same time interval.

The full closure, needed for lane striping on U.S. 2 from the trestle to Highway 9, begins at 10 p.m. and ends at 5 a.m. Wednesday.

On Wednesday night, westbound U.S. 2 from Highway 9 to Highway 204 is scheduled to be closed for striping from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Thursday. The Highway 9 and Bickford Avenue on-ramps to westbound U.S. 2 will be closed from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

A single lane on eastbound U.S. 2 from Highway 204 to Highway 9 is planned for closure for striping from 7 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday. During the work, the eastbound U.S. 2 exit to Bickford Avenue will be closed.

This work is part of the $22.4 million overpass project designed to reduce serious collisions in the area.

The Bickford Avenue overpass to westbound U.S. 2 opened Sept. 15. The new eastbound Bickford Avenue off-ramp from U.S. 2 opened Friday. A new on-ramp from Bickford Avenue to eastbound U.S. 2 is scheduled to open later this month.
