Regarding your editorial board election endorsement, “Ryan for county council”: Why vote for Terry Ryan? If you support less government then Ryan’s your guy. As noted in several affiliated Herald newspaper articles in the past, Terry had a Mill Creek City Council history of not showing up to vote on controversial issues. So, if you do not want a full county council then raise your glasses high and drink in support of Ryan for Snohomish County Council District 4, because he is your guy!
If you don’t support senior citizens, then Ryan’s your guy. As a Mill Creek councilmember, when Ryan did show up to vote, he consistently voted against a private and public community partnership, which would have lead to a permanent Mill Creek Senior Citizens Center.
If you support people who don’t fulfill their civic elected duties, then Ryan’s your guy. As the Herald noted, Ryan became a council quitter because he could no longer “juggle his full-time commercial real estate broker job; his part-time job as a soccer coach; his part-time council job, and his family commitments.” Ryan’s resignation came at a very busy time for the council because they were working on hiring a new city manger and dealing with a significant budget deficit.
If you endorse Aaron Reardon, then Ryan’s your guy. In the last general election, Ryan wrote a letter to the Herald’s editor praising Reardon’s great leadership abilities. So when you vote for your guy Terry Ryan remember you are supporting Ryan’s “insight” that Aaron Reardon was a great Snohomish County executive!
