– The Tips will be at full strength for Friday’s game at Chilliwack. Center Clayton Cumiskey, who’s been out since Oct. 1 because of a concussion, is ready to go. That means Everett will have a full roster to choose from for fielding a lineup against the Bruins.
– It’s a good time for the Tips to be back at full strength. Everett has its first three-game weekend of the season this weekend, with games at Chilliwack, Portland and Vancouver. The Tips better get used to it. This is the first of three consecutive three-in-threes for Everett. The last time the Tips had three consecutive three-in-threes was January of 2009. Everett went 3-5-1-1 during that stretch (with one weekday game thrown into the mix).
– Head coach Craig Hartsburg apparently did, indeed, get on his feet today, one day after undergoing heart surgery. That being said, general manager Doug Soetaert emphasized that there is no set timetable for his return. The Tips will heed the doctors’ orders, and if that means spending more than two months on the sidelines, so be it.
– The WHL released its list of scholarship recipients for the 2010-11 school year. A total of 20 players (including Jordan Mistelbacher’s older brother Tyler) are attending colleges on scholarships provided by the Tips. There’s also several other former Everett players who are attending school on scholarships provided by other WHL teams.
