SPOKANE — A young child has died following an accident in Spokane in which three pedestrians were struck by a vehicle.
Spokane police spokeswoman Monique Cotton said one of the young children hit by the vehicle died Saturday morning. She says the child’s mother has life-threatening injuries while another child struck by the vehicle is recovering with non-life-threatening injuries.
Cotton says the accident occurred Friday evening. The driver of the vehicle stopped, is cooperating with law enforcement officials and has not been charged. Cotton says the accident occurred near an intersection but not in a crosswalk.
Investigators are still working to determine exactly what happened.
