Financial workshops for Spanish speakers
Organized by nonprofits and the Consulate of Mexico in Seattle, the event, which will be conducted in Spanish, is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Henry M. Jackson Conference Center.
The groups that are part of the event include: Apprisien; ClearPoint Credit Counseling Solutions; Familias Unidas; Housing Hope, Las Americas Business Center and many more.
The event is sponsored by United Way of Snohomish County, the Consulate of Mexico, Snohomish County Asset Building Coalition, the Boeing Co. and the Washington State Department of Commerce. The workshops cover topics including credits counseling, debts and budgeting, homeownership and foreclosure, school enrollment and starting a new business.
"Ensuring the financial stability of working families in Snohomish County is one of our top priorities," said Dennis G. Smith, president and CEO of United way of Snohomish County, in a statement.
The first hundred to arrive will receive a free book, there will be activities for youth and a giant pinata is planned.
