Pete Carroll warned us Tuesday that he won’t know anything definitive about Percy Harvin during the week, and sure enough, when asked about the receiver again Thursday, Carroll again said they’re just taking it one day at a time.
Asked if it’s realistic that Harvin could play Monday, Carroll answered: “Nothing’s realistic right now but getting to the next day. We’re just going one day at a time, and we’ll keep saying it, because that’s really the truth. It’s a day-to-day, almost drill-to-drill situation to see if we’re managing him properly to b ring him back. It would be great to see him play this weekend, but that’s not part of what we’re counting on. We just want to see what happens to day and see if we can get through it, then go to tomorrow and take in any information trying to make a good decision. I don’t know what’s realistic or not. I can’t tell, I won’t know really until Monday I would think, unless we learn something earlier.”
Speaking of injured receivers, Golden Tate, who didn’t finish Tuesday’s practice because of a sore shoulder/neck, should be OK this week.
“Golden went through the walkthrough and looked pretty good today,” Carroll said. “It looks like he’s going to be OK.”
On middle linebacker Bobby Wagner, who has missed two games with a high ankle sprain, Carroll said, “Bobby made it through the walkthrough here this morning, so we’ll see how he is. We’re going to just take it one day at a time to find out how much he’s come back. He’s way ahead of schedule for the injury, so we really don’t know how to handle that other than just to wait and see and see what happens with him.”
On right tackle Breno Giacomini, who had knee surgery on Sept. 30 Carroll said they’re seeing progress, but don’t know yet when he’ll return.
“The word was, starting this week he’s started to make a good turn,” Carroll said. “It’s taken him a while to get going, he had some fluid on his knee after the surgery that they had to get out of there. Once they got it out of there and he had a week or so to get away from that, he’s really made a good turn. That doesn’t tell us that he’s going to be back next week, we don’t know that yet, because he’s still got to keep making progress, but he’s finally turned the corner. We hope as soon as possible, we’d love to get him back out there.”
