SEATTLE — A woman accused of running down a pedestrian in the Seattle suburb of Kenmore, then telling police she found the body while walking her dog, has been charged with felony hit and run.
The King County prosecutor’s office said Sydney Jones, 24, of Kenmore, was charged Thursday. Arraignment is set for Nov. 7.
Monday’s crash killed 31-year-old Joseph Humphreys of Kenmore.
Jones turned herself in later Monday and is out of jail after posting $25,000 bond.
In charging papers, the prosecution said the woman said she had been driving too fast and was distracted as she lit a cigarette. A deputy prosecutor says Jones did not have a valid driver’s license.
