Edmonds-based Landau Associates has promoted staff at three of its offices, including in Edmonds. Allan Barton and Eric Zick were both promoted to Graphics II. Steven Shaw was promoted to project geologist. Chad McMullen was promoted to senior engineer in Landau Associates’ geotechnical group. Kenneth Reid was promoted to senior geologist.
The Rotary Club of Lake Stevens has selected Tracy DeLorm as the Rotarian of the Year for 2013-14. The Rotarian of the Year Award goes to members who have demonstrated exemplary service to the Rotary Club of Lake Stevens. DeLorm has been a member of the club since 2002 and has made major contributions serving on several committees.
Sarah Ozanne, a senior accountant with Moss Adams in Everett, was one of several award winners in this year’s presentations by The Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants. Also earning awards in the Puget Sound region were Rick Anderson, Peterson Sullivan, Wendy Kwan, Dave Trujillo and Mike Cheney.
Good deeds
Master Builders Career Connection will cease to operate this month. However, the foundation is distributing $85,150 in grants immediately and transferring $365,000 in assets to The Seattle Foundation in order to continue providing scholarships, training and outreach to those interested and involved in the homebuilding industry.
U.S. Bank employee volunteers helped to distribute backpacks and school supplies to 84 children who reside at Mercy Housing in Lynnwood. The backpacks and school materials were supplied through collaboration between U.S. Bank and the nonprofit Schoolhouse Supplies. More than 650 children in seven cities who reside in Mercy Housing rental developments benefitted from the program.

This week on KSER 90.7 FM and KXIR 89.9 FM’s monthly personal finance show “Getting Your Dough to Rise,” host Chuck Noel welcomes Linda O’Bryon, producer and original co-host of PBS’s “Nightly Business Report.” Other guests include Bruce McClary of Clearpoint Credit Counseling Solutions and Nathalie Gautheron of Senior Services of Snohomish County. Edmonds Center for the Arts has launched a new Education &Outreach initiative this season called Arts for Everyone. According to the Smith Travel Research report for July 2014, Snohomish County finished the month of July over 2013 in all three measurements: Occupancy; Average Daily Rate; and Revenue Per Available Room. Overall demand was up 10.8 percent compared to this month last year and revenue saw a 22.6 percent increase.
