After sitting out two days of practice this week, Marshawn Lynch was back on the field and is fine, according to Pete Carroll.
“He’s fine,” Carroll said. “He feels good.”
“His knee was a little sore, but he came out and was raring to go today. He got his walkthrough work earlier in the week, so he’s ready for the game plan.”
As expected, Carroll said Percy Harvin won’t play Sunday as he continues to work his way back from hip surgery.
“He’s not playing Sunday,” Carroll said. “We’ve been quiet with him. He was a little sore from last week, so we’re just making sure he’ll be ready to go and we won’t waste our opportunity with him on the practice field.”
Asked if he regretted bringing Harvin back to practice last week, which starts the three-week clock on adding him to the 53-man roster, Carroll said, “No. Not yet. If he was on our team and was banged up, we certainly wouldn’t mind keeping him as one of the inactives, so if that’s the way it winds a few weeks from now, that’s what it is, but we’re hoping to get him back. He was fine a week ago ready to go, and the ware and tear of the comeback just got him a little bit, so we’re just slowing him down.”
Carroll said Harvin did receive another MRI on his hip “to make sure we were seeing everything right. There were no complications and all of that, so we’re just bringing him back.”
On tackles Russell Okung and Breno Giacomini, Carroll said both should return to practice next week, though Okung can’t return to game action off of injured reserve until the Nov. 17 game.
“We’re talking about (Okung) being back on the field Wednesday,” Carroll said. “He might work out at the stadium on Sunday, we’ll see about that, but for sure by Wednesday he’ll be out doing some things. We’re really encourage—every day he’s worked he shown he can handle it with the rehab portion of it, so it’s a real positive.
“Breno will be back about on the same day. It’s looking like on the same day both those guys will come back to the practice field and start working, then we’ll have to determine what that means, we won’t know until we get going.”
Also, safety Earl Thomas missed practice due to illness, but is expected to play.
“He just showed up sick so we sent him back home when he got here in the morning,” Carroll said. “… Earl’s fine. He’s just sick and had a tough night, so we wanted to make sure he’ll be rested and all.”
