EVERETT — The Washington State Patrol is investigating the discovery early Monday morning of a man who died after being found unconscious along I-5.
Troopers were sent to the area just north of Highway 526 beneath the 75th Street overpass around 3:30 a.m.
The man was found off the right shoulder of the freeway, trooper Mark Francis said.
He was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett where he was pronounced dead.
Detectives will investigate how the man ended up along the freeway. They don’t know if he jumped from the overpass or was dumped along the roadway.
“We just don’t know at this point,” Francis said.
The body will be sent to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office, which will be asked to determine the man’s identity as well as his cause of death.
