Vote no on school ballot measures.
Once again it’s “Vote yes for chools” time. Well, if the education system was run like a business, instead of regularly crying “wolf” we might not need to have the annual “vote for schools” ballot measures.
Over the past 30 or so years, the school systems nationally have had an increase in “non-teaching faculty” personnel that is about six times the rate of increase of teaching staff members.
Give these folks a dollar and they will spend it on more employees, which the results have dramatically shown do not contribute to the education of our students. If they did, all students would graduate with a GPA over 3.75.
Pray tell what in the hell will 150 employees in the Everett School District’s new palace ($23.8 million cost) do all day that will enhance the education levels of the kids?
Had Stanwood/Camano School District put money aside for repairs and replacement of equipment and property they would have the money they now want on another bond, payable by future residents because those folks can’t practice common sense.
It has past the time to say “no” to school bond and financing ballot measures and let these folks start saving money on a weekly basis. The first thing a prudent businessman would do is cut the overhead that doesn’t contribute to the end results desired. Get the point?
Thankfully, the Legislature has put a cap on the amount they will spend, now it’s time to cut costs.
