Will work for Boeing: Pending a vote by union members and quick approval of a package of tax and other incentives by the Legislature, Boeing has agreed to build the 777X in Everett. As part of the deal, the union will make concessions on pensions and the state will extend tax cuts.
Boeing didn’t get everything it wanted, specifically a provision that would have annexed Washington state into right-to-work South Carolina.

Well, in that case: After months of angry denials, Toronto Mayor Rob Ford admitted that he smoked crack cocaine during one of his “drunken stupors,” but he vowed to remain in office and would run for re-election next October.
Ford said he is counting on Toronto voters to keep an open mind and hoped they would go to the polls in a drunken stupor.

Fresh from the bullpen: The Seattle Mariners hired Detroit Tigers hitting coach Lloyd McClendon as their third manager under General Manager Jack Zduriencik.
The Mariners, who have struggled to keep a manager for more than a couple of seasons since losing Lou Pinella in 2002, were fortunate to catch McClendon during a drunken stupor.
