KENT — A Kent police dog named Kato is in stable condition after surgery for a stab wound he suffered while tracking down a suspect.
The dog and his handler helped locate the domestic violence suspect in Des Moines Tuesday night, and the man stabbed Kato in the shoulder with a pocket knife.
KIRO-TV reported officers arrested the man. Kato had surgery at a veterinary clinic.
The German shepherd has been working with officers for nearly two years.
