Nov. 22 will be the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.
To mark this historical event the Everett Public Library has scheduled a free presentation at 7 p.m. Nov. 20 by Everett Community College history professor Jason Ripper.
Ripper will review Kennedy’s rise to the presidency, from his heroics as a World War II PT boat commander to his election to the presidency in 1960 at age 43, the youngest man ever to be elected president.
Ripper will explore the rippling effect Kennedy’s assassination had and still has on American society.
The Everett Public Library Auditorium is at 2702 Hoyt Ave., Everett. Call 425-257-8000 for more information.
