SEATAC — A Seattle-Tacoma International Airport spokesman says a man in his 20s who bolted through a terminal security checkpoint, ran down a concourse and out onto the area where planes are parked was arrested Friday night after Port of Seattle police caught him in an empty airplane.
Spokesman Perry Cooper says the man was not armed and appeared to be under the influence of drugs. He was arrested inside an American Airlines plane after a short struggle. Cooper says the man will be booked for investigation of trespass and assault of an officer.
The arrested man suffered minor injuries; Cooper says officers were unhurt.
The spokesman says K-9s are checking the plane for anything suspicious before it returns to service.
Cooper says no other airport operations were affected.
