Brandon Browner has "pretty serious" groin injury
Asked if the injury could be season-ending, Carroll couldn't rule that out.
"We’ll find out," Carroll said. "Don’t know. Need a few days here."
While losing Browner for a long period of time would certainly be bad news, that is a position at which the Seahawks have the depth to survive an injury, as was evident in Atlanta where Walter Thurmond and Byron Maxwell both played well in Browner's absence.
"Everything worked out fine," Carroll said. "Walter jumped right in there, and when he went into the nickel spot, Byron Maxwell did a very good job, made a couple of really nice plays. Those guys have always performed well when called on. We feel really good about those guys, they’re tested, they’ve started games, they’ve played a lot. Jeremy (Lane) can play as well, so we’re in good shape at the position. Of course, if we’re going to miss Brandon it’s going to be significant because he’s a terrific football player for us, but we do have really capable guys to step in."
As for the news that came out earlier about Percy Harvin being back on the roster, Carroll said the plan is for Harvin to practice Wednesday, but no decision has yet been made on whether he'll play or not.
"That lets you know that he’ll be going after it this week and we’ll see how far we can take it," Carroll said. "If everything works out well, he’ll practice Wednesday and start the process."
Asked what he needs to see out of Harvin before the receiver can play, Carroll said, "He’s just got to practice every day and show that all that he’s done in the rehab work has paid off and that he can sustain through each day. It’s really the next day that we always look at; he makes his day and how does he feel the next day? We’ll just see how that goes. To us it’s not a pressure decisions. We’ll really consider all the factors and make sure we’re doing this right."
On DE Red Bryant and C Max Unger, who both missed Sunday's game with concussions, Carroll said, they "are still day-to-day, but they both look like they’re going to make it back."
