MARYSVILLE — A Community Transit bus driver has been placed on paid administrative leave after Marysville police reportedly found him outside his bus having sex during a break last week.
The officers saw “consensual sexual activity taking place,” said Marysville police Cmdr. Robb Lamoureux.
The incident happened about 7:15 p.m. Nov. 6 along State Avenue, just south of First Street.
“This incident was a result of an on-view officer-initiated contact,” Lamoureux said.
The bus was parked in the area during a scheduled break, Community Transit spokesman Martin Munguia said Monday.
The driver, 59, was not arrested. The officers did report the incident to the man’s supervisor, Lamoureux said.
Community Transit has an ongoing internal investigation to determine whether any policies were violated, Munguia said. The driver has worked for the agency since 1998.
The only passenger on the bus left at that stop, but it’s not clear if it was the same person who was involved in the alleged sexual activity, Munguia said.
The person who allegedly was having sex with the driver does not work for Community Transit, and the agency’s investigation is focused on employee conduct, he said.
The agency reviewed surveillance video from the bus but the footage didn’t show anything out of the ordinary, he said.
Marysville police have indicated that they don’t plan to cite the driver or seek criminal charges, Munguia said.
