Everett: Dinner for seniors planned
The Everett Firefighters Association plans a free turkey dinner for seniors Nov. 24.
The dinner is for those 50 and older, said assistant fire marshal Eric Hicks. Reservations are required. Serving times will be noon, 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. at the Carl Gipson Senior Center of Everett, 3025 Lombard Ave.
The association is a nonprofit. People are asked to bring a nonperishable food donation.

Lake Stevens: Fire budget meeting
Snohomish County Fire District 8 in Lake Stevens plans a public meeting Monday to gather input about the proposed 2014 budget.
The meeting is set for 6 p.m. at the district headquarters, 1825 S. Lake Stevens Road. The final budget will posted at www.lsfire.org.
Lynnwood: Police academy planned
The Lynnwood Police Department is seeking applicants for a free 13-week Citizens Academy starting in January.
Participants will meet weekly to learn about police operations, personal safety and crime prevention.
The classes will be 7 to 10 p.m. Thursdays, starting Jan. 9 at the police department, 19321 44th Ave. W.
