Old gold: The Everett Coin Club’s annual coin and stamp show is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 12810 35th Ave. SE, Everett. See U.S. and world coins, stamps, books and jewelry, and it costs no coins to get in.
Artful event: Get a jump on your holiday shopping at a gift show featuring works from 30 local artists in Edmonds showing pottery, woodworking, jewelry and fiber arts, along with specialty chocolates, local honey and other gourmet treats. Helmet heads: Seattle Children’s Hospital offers a free ski helmet fitting and giveaway for kids ages 4 to 18. It’s from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at 6901 Sand Point Way NE, Seattle. One helmet per child and wearers must be present to be fitted. First come, first served as quantities are limited.
‘Games’ games: Two Sno-Isle libraries, Darrington and Marysville, are pumping up the hype for “Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” which opens Nov. 22. Teens can play games and win prizes, including tickets to the movie. Head to the Darrington library, 1005 Cascade St., (360-436-1600), between 2 and 3 p.m. Saturday, and Marysville, 6120 Grove St. (360-658-5000), from 7 to 10 p.m. also on Saturday.
Good garbage: Smaller children can spend some time Saturday at the Snohomish Library’s Artycycle! Crafternoon. All ages welcome to grab a mystery bag and create original artworks from recycled materials. It takes place from 2 to 4 p.m. at the library, 311 Maple Ave.
Metal and opera: Check out a performance of a heavy metal opera (yes, you read that right) at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. It’s at the Historic Everett Theatre. Get more info here.

Step up: Help the Cascade High School bands and color guard earn new uniforms, buy instruments and pay for travel expenses at a Fall Gift Fair from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the high school cafeteria, 801 E. Casino Road, Everett.
