If you want immerse yourself in the largest collection of holiday lights this side of Warm Beach, head for the Bellevue Botanical Garden's Garden D'Lights.
They'll throw the switch on Nov. 30.
Every year volunteers put up the thousands of lights in the shapes of plants, flowers and garden critters along the trails and even under water in a rippling lighted pond,
A new exhibit, Honey Bear, joins Snap d'Dragon, Charlotte and her web, and Willie the Slug.
The lights are lit every night, including holidays) from 5 to 10 p.m., Nov. 30 to Jan. 4, with the last group allowed in at 9:30 p.m.
Tickets are $5 for all and no charge for children 10 and younger.
It's best to purchase tickets online (www.bellevuebotanical.org) ahead of time to avoid long lines. You can purchase a specific date and time.
Free nights are scheduled Dec. 2, 3, 4, 5, 9, 10, 11 and 12. Workers control how many enter at a time, but be prepared to wait.
The display this year is called the "Construction Edition" as new facilities are in the works, so the route will be shorter. Also missing this year is on-site limited mobility parking and the gift store.
The visitor center is open, however, with the lighted aquarium and hot chocolate to purchase.
The Bellevue Botanical Garden is at 12001 Main St.
There is free parking at Wilburton Hill Park and the Bellevue School District offices after 5 p.m. after parking you follow the lighted trail to the entrance.
See the website, www.bellevuebotanical.org, for more information and directions.
