Is that spaceship a cardboard box?

Is that spaceship a cardboard box? “Dr. Who,” the long-running science-fiction series produced by the BBC (but often looking like it was slapped together by the community theatre in Steeple-Bumpstead-Upon-Hampstead), celebrates its 50th anniversary with several TV specials this week.

The shows are all rated TV-MD, which signifies that they’re suitable only for Mensa members and dorks.

Dude, that’s waaaaay early: Beginning today, folks who want to grow, process or sell marijuana can apply for a license from the state.

Officials will begin accepting applications at 8 a.m., but The Buzz expects a major rush of applicants about 4:20 p.m.

Storm warnings: The Seahawks’ home-field juggernaut continued Sunday, as the Hawks crushed Minnesota for their 13th consecutive win at CenturyLink Field (Page C1). Meanwhile, a juggernaut of a different kind swept across the Midwest, as intense thunderstorms and tornadoes forced Bears fans at Chicago’s Soldier Field to take shelter in the stadium’s concourse.

But if you’re going to have to wait out a storm, you might as well do so where there are $12 beers.
