OLYMPIA — Gov. Jay Inslee is back in the state after a trade mission to China.
Inslee returned to Washington state Tuesday afternoon after extending his trip by an additional day for a series of meetings in Beijing. Inslee had to delay the start of his trip because of a legislative special session and a Boeing machinists vote, but was able to leave last Thursday to join a Washington state delegation that had left the state on Nov. 9.
Inslee and a delegation of more than 100 business and education leaders visited Shanghai, Guangzhou and then Shenzhen. In Shanghai, Inslee promoted Washington pears and Almond Roca candy and spoke at an investment recruitment event. In Beijing, he met with U.S. Ambassador Gary Locke.
