SEATTLE — King County Executive Dow Constantine and the head of the union for Metro bus drivers announced a tentative agreement Thursday on a three-year contract.
Constantine’s office says it calls for a wage freeze in the first year, which could save jobs and preserve some bus routes facing cuts.
The contract calls for wage increases of 2 percent in the second and third years.
Amalgamated Transit Union Local 587 represents 3,800 members who operate and maintain a fleet of 1,400 buses.
