SPOKEANE — Authorities are seeking help from the public to solve a crime that left a cross-country team in Spokane Valley without many of their belongings.
The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office said seven members of the Stonehill College cross country team had their duffel bags stolen in a vehicle prowl Thursday. The team had traveled from Massachusetts for the NCAA Division II cross country national championships.
Deputies say the thief removed the locking mechanism from the side door of the team’s rental vehicle. The team members lost wallets, identification, clothing and electronic devices. The value of cash and devices stolen was about $1,300.
Authorities don’t have any suspects in the case, but Crime Stoppers is offering a $500 reward for information leading to an arrest.
