EVERETT — Santa Paws is coming to town, and he’s bringing along an opportunity for your animals to help others.
Bring your dogs, cats, bunnies — whoever you call family — to the Everett Animal Shelter to pose for holiday cards with Santa. It’s an annual fundraiser for the Animal Rescue Foundation of Everett, a nonprofit that raises money for the shelter’s veterinary clinic.
The goal is to raise enough money to buy an X-ray machine. Right now, the shelter doesn’t have one. That means less access to medical care for some animals.
When a dog, cat or other animal needs X-rays, the shelter has to send it off to outside veterinarians, spending money that could be used to provide medications and surgeries to other animals in need.
Get your holiday cards out of the way for a good cause from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 7 and 14 at the Everett Animal Shelter, 333 Smith Island Road.
The cost is $20. For that, you get a hard-copy of your best shot in a frame, plus electronic copies of additional photos on a CD or via email.
All pets must be on a leash or in a carrier.
