Northwest Chorale to stage 'Messiah' at free concerts

Northwest Chorale plans a full performance of Handel's "Messiah" during a free concert at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Edmonds United Methodist Church, 828 Caspers St.
The solos are to be sung by soprano Kathy Barlow, alto Nerys Jones, tenor Paul Karaitis and bass Michael Drumheller.
It is believed that Handel donated proceeds from annual performances of the work to his favorite charity. At the Edmonds concert, people are invited to participate in an offering for local food banks.
The performance is to be repeated at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 14 at University Christian Church, 4731 15th Ave. NE, Seattle. More information is available at
