See 'Gathering' in Edmonds, 'Charlie Brown' on Whidbey

The family's all getting together again over the holidays. It's been a rough time with Dad's unexpected death.
But wait … he shows up as a ghost to tell Mom how much he loved her.
And that's when the laughs begin in "A Nice Family Gathering," a heartwarming play that opens Friday night at the Phoenix Theatre.
"Gathering" continues through Dec. 22 with performances at 8 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and at 2 p.m. on Sundays.
Tickets are $18.50 general admission and $15.50 for seniors and military.

The Phoenix Theatre is at 9673 Firdale Ave., Edmonds.
Wah, waah. Poor Charlie Brown. Life's a downer, but he always manages to end right side up in "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown," opening Friday night at the Whidbey Island Center for the Arts.
The musical production follows Charlie, Snoopy and the gang though the ins and outs of childhood, from his Valentine crush on the little red-haired girl to his stumbling baseball tryout.
Tickets are $17 to $24 for performances through Dec. 21. Buy them at the WICA ticket office by calling 360-221- 8268 or 800-638-7631, or go to The Whidbey Island Center for the Arts is at 565 Camano Ave., Langley.
