Help celebrate the return of bald eagles

The bald eagles are returning to the Stillaguamish and Skagit river watersheds.
To celebrate, the Skagit Fisheries Enhancement Group is offering free tours on weekends through Jan. 26 at the Marblemount Fish Hatchery facility.
Visitors can learn about hatchery operations, salmon life cycles, the habitat needs of salmon and other local wildlife and, of course, the wintering bald eagle.
Guided tours are offered from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. The hatchery also is open daily for self-guided tours.
The Skagit Fisheries Enhancement Group is a nonprofit agency dedicated restoring wild salmon populations for future generations.
The Marblemount Fish Hatchery is at 8319 Fish Hatchery Road, off Highway 20, in Marblemount. A great route to drive is on Highway 530 along the Stillaguamish River through Arlington and Darrington, and north to Rockport, where you turn east on Highway 20 toward Marblemount. Plenty of parking is available at the hatchery. Tours start inside the visitor center.
More information is available by emailing education@skagit fisheries.org.
