PORTLAND, Ore. — Oregon tight end Pharaoh Brown has been suspended for the Ducks’ upcoming bowl game because of his role in an on-campus snowball fight that got out of hand.
A YouTube video of Friday’s incident shows players and other students pelting cars with snowballs in front of the Erb Memorial Union in Eugene. The video had attracted more than 2.5 million views as of Monday afternoon.
Head Coach Mark Helfrich announced the suspension Monday. Other players involved in the fight received unspecified punishments.
In a statement released by the university, Brown said his actions escalated to an inappropriate level and he deeply regrets his actions. Brown caught 10 passes during the regular season and scored two touchdowns.
The Ducks play Texas in the Alamo Bowl on Dec. 30 in San Antonio.
