EVERETT — An Everett man was being held Thursday at the Snohomish County Jail on allegations that he assaulted a 21-month-old girl.
The child’s mother took her to an emergency room on Dec. 8 because she seemed overly fussy and had facial injuries, according to the arrest report. The mother’s boyfriend, 29, had been watching the girl while the mother was at work.
Medical tests at the hospital showed the child had two fractures in her face and a fractured leg.
There was also a healing rib fracture “which was suggestive of past abuse,” according to the report.
The man allegedly told officers that he became angry at the child for crying, and he picked her up and threw her down a hallway. He said her face and body struck a door frame, and then he threw her into a playpen.
