First, an update on an item from yesterday. If you missed it, a group of Seahawks fans have decided to make the next move in a back-and-forth between Seahawks and 49ers fans a charitable one. Noting that the ‘Niners fan effort to purchase a billboard in Seattle included any extra money raised to go to Seattle Children’s Hospital, a group of Seahawks fans started a campaign to raise money for UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital. Pretty cool idea, right? Well the effort is gaining traction, with the Clearwater Casino Resort agreeing yesterday to match donations up to $5,000, then this morning I got this email update from one of the Seahawks fans organizing the campaign:
“Super exciting update! A “Anonymous Fan” of the 49ers has officially offered to match whatever we raise for UCSF and donate it Seattle Children’s Hospital … UP TO $100,000!!!
I think San Francisco just said “Challenge Accepted!”
