Boeing

How dare union look out for folks

For almost 30 years I was a union member, an oil, chemical and atomic Worker. I was always struck, as I am now with the Boeing Machinists, by the membership's willingness to go out on a limb for issues not necessarily in their own personal interest. I recall unions being for a higher minimum wage and for socialized medicine while their members' wages were already high and they already had good medical insurance. The Boeing Machinists voted down a deal that would have reduced the retirement plan, not their own, but for the yet-to-be-hired. What's wrong with these people? Have they been brain-washed by their proto-commie leadership? It can't be that they're really concerned about others' welfare in our me-me-me culture.
