SNOHOMISH — Back-to-back 3-pointers and four straight free throws were key as Snohomish defeated Everett 63-57 in overtime in a Snohomish Holiday Tournament game on Friday.
Everett’s Sidney Rielly finished with a game-high 22 points and keyed a 17-10 comeback run in the fourth quarter that tied the game at 47 at the end of regulation.
“They made a run,” said Panthers head coach Ken Roberts on the Seagulls’ comeback. “We missed some shots, missed some close ones. They made a couple threes down the stretch. I mean (Sidney) Rielly is a heck of a player that made some key shots late for them.”
With Everett gaining the early lead in the extra period, senior Callie Harwood and Madison Pollock connected on back-to-back 3-pointers to give the lead back to Snohomish. After several key misses by the Seagulls, Pollock made four straight free throws to seal the victory for the Panthers.
“Madison had a nice game,” said Roberts. “In regulation she missed a one-and-one that would’ve won the game. But in overtime she came through. The more she plays in these type of situations, the more she’ll get used to it and the better she’ll be. She is someone that we want making these great plays.”
