PORTLAND — A young driver and her teen passenger suffered critical injuries after the driver failed to negotiate a sweeping curve in the road near Sherwood.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office said Saturday that the driver, Morgan McFarland, 25, is in the hospital in critical condition. The condition of passenger Leah McFarland, 17, isn’t known. The women are from the Seattle area and are cousins. The crash occurred Friday at about 6 p.m. when McFarland lost control of her 1989 Honda Civic and collided with a Dodge Durango. The driver of the Durango was not injured in the crash.
Investigators say McFarland was speeding when the crash occurred.
