Well that was unexpected.
After the talk on Percy Harvin turned more pessimistic over the last couple of weeks, the thought was that the receiver might be heading for injured reserve.
Instead, Pete Carroll said Harvin will practice when the Seahawks return to action Thursday, with the intention being that he will play in Seattle’s Jan. 11 playoff game.
“Percy’s going to practice with us when we get back with the intention of playing in this next game,” Carroll said. “We’ll see what happens. That’s the intention, we’ll see how it goes. He’s come to the point where we can go to that, and we’ll keep our fingers crossed for him. He wants to contribute and be part of this team, and he’s going to do everything he can do that. So we’ll see what happens.”
12’s see u in 2 weeks … It’s go time once again

Harvin hasn’t practiced since making his one appearance this season against the Vikings, but has made enough progress to come back to work this week, Carroll said.
“He’s been rehabbing the whole time to get to this point,” Carroll said. “He ran real well today.”
The timing of this, along with the negative tone about Harvin up to this point, lends itself well to conspiracy theories. Have the Seahawks been planning this all along? Did they decide a while back to shut Harvin down then break him out in the playoffs?
Carroll says none of that is the case, but rather that this just happens to be when he’s ready to practice.
“No, we never said that,” Carroll said. “There was a time when I thought that maybe he wouldn’t have a chance to take the turn that he needed, within the last month or so. Because he needs a couple of weeks, now we have a couple of weeks, and we’ll see what happens. Really there’s no game-plan here, there’s nothing behind this, we’ve just got a young guy that’s trying to get back on the team and see if he can help his team win, and we’ll see if it happens. There’s not strategy to this or anything like that. We’re just pulling for him, and if he can contribute that would be great.”
On other injuries, Carroll said everyone who was dinged up from Sunday’s game, aside from Luke Willson (ankle) should be fine to practice this week.
On K.J. Wright, who is recovering from foot surgery, Carroll said, “It’s not designated specifically yet, but he feels great and I think the hope is we’ll take a look at him next week and see where he is. From then it’ll be a day-to-day kind of thing. That’s what we hope it’ll be like. That’s really optimistic, but that’s where we are.”
