MOUNTLAKE TERRACE — A Mountlake Terrace woman was taken to the hospital Monday after her husband reportedly shot her by accident, police said.
The woman, 20, was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with injuries to her abdomen and leg. They weren’t considered life threatening, Mountlake Terrace police Cmdr. Doug Hansen said.
The bullet grazed the woman and was recovered from a chest drawer.
Her husband, 22, recently received the handgun as a gift.
“He was trying to secure it to put it away into a small safe,” Hansen said.
The incident occurred around 2:15 p.m. at a home in the 6100 block of St. Albion Way.
