Friday Seahawks links; All-Pros, DPOY talk, Phish, Wisconsin weather and more

We’re going with midday links today, because, well, I was busy with other stuff this morning, including…

If you missed it earlier, the Seahawks had three players earn All-Pro honors: CB Richard Sherman and S Earl Thomas, who were named to the first team, and S Kam Chancellor, who got a second-team nod.

The big news from yesterday was obviously Percy Harvin’s return to practice. What will be telling now is what, if anything he does when the team returns to practice this afternoon. We’ll talk to Pete Carroll after practice, so we should know a bit more later this afternoon.

Speaking of Thomas, I wrote in today’s Herald why he deserves to be the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year.

And speaking of Sherman, he wrote his latest piece for TheMMQB.com, ranking the smartest QBs in the NFL.

Sticking with TheMMQB.com, that site questions whether it’s time to reconsider the way the playoff are seeded, noting that the 12-4 49ers have to play in frigid Green Bay against an 8-7-1 team. And of course also mentioned in the article is the 2010 postseason, in which 11-5 New Orleans played at 7-9 Seattle.

TheMMQB.com also makes its postseason picks, with one of their experts picking the Seahawks to win it all (and another picking an early exit).

ESPN’s Terry Blount looks at how Seattle would match up with potential playoff opponents, and concludes Seahawks fans should be rooting for a New Orleans victory Saturday.

SportsOnEarth.com wonders what kind of impact Percy Harvin will have if he does indeed return for the playoffs.

Seahawks.com has its top 50 photos of the year.

NFL Films looks at the relationship between Seahawks fans, Russell Wilson and the band Phish. Pretty fun little segment if you’ve got 15 minutes to kill during lunch.
