Christmas

Thanks to businesses for Nativity displays

I've meant to do this for many years, so before I again miss the opportunity, I would like to offer my sincere gratitude for the beautiful Nativity scene that Dwayne Layne's displays each year in their small glass building on Everygreen Way for all to enjoy during the Christmas season. Also both the Union 76 stations in Lynnwood on 196th Street and on 44th Avenue West erect beautiful Nativity displays as well.
In addition, I would like to express my appreciation to Hobby Lobby for the full page in The Herald reminding everyone of the "rreason" Christmas day even exists. Last but not least, thank you to The Herald for that beautiful banner of the Holy Family at the top of the Christmas edition of the paper.
As they rake in the money at this time of year, very few businesses bother to acknowledge the day as the birthday of Jesus, so thank you, thank you to those who do.
Incidentally, the Union 76 stations display a replica of the Statue of Liberty the rest of the year and enhance their display with lots of large American flags for Fourth of July -- beautiful! Something tells me that the owner really appreciates his country.
