If you haven’t heard of Made In Heights yet, get ready, because they are about to be a big deal. The new Made In Heights track “Murakami” makes me want to wander dark streets in the middle of the night while questioning everything I thought I knew about everything.
Every line in this song is gorgeous and haunting.
Try “in the tenderness moves all things like a poltergeist in the streets” or “What you mean you don’t really know, I’m losing touch with the physical, I’m showing up in the future like I’ve been here before.” I don’t know what you need to do in order dream up that wild genius but I can’t stop listening to it.
I don’t even know what to call this. Mythical dream pop? For now, let’s just call it the best stuff I’ve heard in a long while. The producer behind Made In Heights is Sabzi from Seattle hiphop group Blue Scholars. This is a far different sound from Blue Scholars and it is going to be very exciting to see where this goes.
Check out “Murakami” below and then head over to Soundcloud and listen to their other stuff. It’s all great.
