Front Porch: New Mukilteo mayor to address historical society

Newly elected Mukilteo Mayor Jennifer Gregerson is scheduled to speak at a meeting of the Mukilteo Historical Society on Thursday.
The meeting is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. in the Fowler Room at Rosehill Community Center, 304 Lincoln Ave.
The meeting is open to the public and refreshments are planned.

Opportunity for student photographers: The Professional Photographers of Washington, led by Fowler Portraits in Edmonds, encourages teen photographers to apply for the 2014 Student Photographer of the Year Award. The $2,000 scholarship competition is open to all graduating high school seniors in the state who plan to pursue further study in the photographic arts.
A panel of professional photographers who are members of the Professional Photographers of Washington will select the finalists. The Student Photographer of the Year will be chosen based on photographic and scholastic studies and the student's wish to continue to study the photographic arts.
Deadline to apply is March 22. For more information or to receive an application, contact Anita Weston at 425-776-4426. Applications, information and past student finalists are available at www.ppw.org.
