Wednesday
After a contentious season that saw ratings plunge, “American Idol” is back with a fresh judges panel that includes newcomer Harry Connick Jr. and returnee Jennifer Lopez.
Also in the mix is Randy Jackson, but as an in-house mentor. 8 p.m., Fox.
Thursday
Creepy stalker alert: Pop star Josh Groban drops in on “The Crazy Ones” tonight. He plays a former co-worker of Sydney’s (Sarah Michelle Gellar) who is obsessed with her. 9 p.m., CBS.
Friday
On “Bones,” Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and the team investigate the murder of a struggling country singer. They soon learn that his record label was badly mistreating him. 8 p.m., Fox.
Saturday
“Flowers in the Attic,” a harrowing tale of neglect and abuse that mesmerized teens girls who grew up in the 1980s, comes to TV in a new film adaptation. Heather Graham and Ellen Burstyn headline the cast, along with Kiernan Shipka (“Mad Men”). 8 p.m., Lifetime.
