Police recommend that people store those batteries in secure areas, according to the city newsletter.
Two thefts were reported Jan. 7 in the 800 and 900 blocks of 19th Street near Blackmans Lake.
An attempted theft was reported Jan. 8 in the 1000 block of Avenue A. The thief may have been associated with a white Dodge Neon. No suspect description is available.
